Join our friendly, high-performance team as an Employment Specialist I, you will perform recruitment, selection, and placement activities for a wide range of occupations and organizational units to help ensure a well-qualified, diverse workforce.

This is a developmental level position and may lead to the full performance Employment Specialist II position.

After 12 months of successful performance and demonstrated ability to coordinate recruitment sourcing, position advertising, and vacancy announcement development, and upon achieving one of the following certifications: Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), or equivalent Human Resources certification, or Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR) from Advanced Internet Recruitment Strategies (AIRS), a one grade increase is awarded non-competitively and the incumbent remains on this job description (SES1223).

After a total of 24 months of successful performance, and demonstrated ability to independently apply a consultative recruiting approach working with hiring organizations; display an understanding the Airport Authority’s and the hiring organization’s business; demonstrate proficiency in Workday Recruiting; and exercise sound judgement in making recruitment decisions; the full performance level of an Employment Specialist II (SHRESS20) is intended.

Serves in the ERPM Department of the Office of Human Resources and Administrative Services at the Headquarters Office.

Performs the full cycle of recruitment, selection, and placement duties, including assisting with coordinating recruitment for large-scale hiring, advising on selection and placement processes, and developing outreach and vacancy marketing strategies. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field.
  • Assists with coordinating the recruitment process from hiring request through background investigation and onboarding.
  • Assists with coordinating recruitment process for multi-position public safety and special large-scale hiring of career and non-career personnel.
  • Writes vacancy announcements and special emphasis recruitment postings.
  • Assists with developing and delivering recruiting outreach through the Internet, jobs fairs, and other means.
  • Identifies recruitment sources and contributes to recruiting strategy development.
  • Applies multiple screening processes to applications, presents list of qualified applicants to selecting official, and helps coordinate interviews, investigations, and other selection processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment, selection, and placement.
  • Ability to identify recruitment sources, develop vacancy announcement, and advertise positions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to assist with conducting new hire and promotional selection processing.
  • Knowledge of human resources management with an emphasis on recruitment, selection, and placement.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn key recruitment, selection, and employment legal requirements (e.g., Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act).
  • Ability to perform detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding applicant and employee information.

 

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
