Starting Salary Range: $82,366 – $112,063

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director, Operations – Business & Strategy is responsible for the development and execution of strategies and measurement of progress toward department goals including innovation, revenue generation, and customer experience related to parking and ground transportation. Manages contractual compliance for ground transportation providers, including taxicabs, transportation network companies (TNCs), charter, and shuttle vehicles. Other responsibilities include providing administrative and technical support to enhance parking and ground transportation operations.

Essential Job Responsibilites:

  • Directs the development, oversight, and management of all parking and ground transportation revenue functions, to include the management of the operations of contract management parking, shuttle, and valet staff.
  • Provides oversight of the parking management agreement ensuring that contractual obligations are met. Analyze parking revenue and activity and provide reports identifying trends and changes in the market.
  • Supervises personnel to include participating on interview panels for new hires, training and on-boarding new employees, setting goals, assisting with goal achievement, providing feedback, and evaluating performance, approving leave and payroll submissions, and making job assignments.
  • Interprets and enforces policies, regulations, and practices as required.
  • Prepares performance reviews for supervised employees.
  • Works closely with other internal departments to identify, evaluate, recommend, and support cost-effective and innovative solutions for all aspects of the parking and ground transportation functions and operations while continuing to maintain the highest level of customer service to travelers.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs all parking access and revenue control policies and procedures for parking operations. Establishes and develops department’s policies and procedures.
  • Represents the department in developing partnerships and facilitating effective and positive communications between the airport and the business community.
  • Responsible for all contract management activities. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring MNAA’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
  • Operates with considerable independence requiring the exercise of sound judgement and initiative. Possess strong project management skills and has the ability to direct and multi-task on projects occurring at the same time.
  • Ensures efficient/effective operations; develops/implements processes, programs or service improvements with the goal of achieving target revenues and profitability.
  • Prepares RFP’s, bid specifications, and negotiates contracts. Participates in RFP and bid evaluations. Responsible for all contract management activities. Subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring MNAA’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
  • Assists in the preparation of related RFP’s, bid specifications, and contract negotiations. Provides information for internal and external audits and develops and implements policy and procedural changes in response to audit findings.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Maintains regular, overtime, and on-call attendance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration or related field.
  • 2 – 4 years airport ground transportation, parking and contract management or related fields.

Preferred:

  • Mater’s degree in aviation management, business administration or related field.
  • 4 – 7 years airport ground transportation, parking and contract management or related fields.
  • AAAE Certified Member (C.M.)
