The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) welcomes applications for the role of Terminal Operations Duty Officer.

Job Summary

This is professional work assisting in the management of the Terminal, Baggage Handling System, Airport Roadways and Garage areas, including issues involving customer service and passenger flow, concessions, airport infrastructure and facilities, airline operations and Lost and Found.  Terminal Operations Duty Officers monitor compliance with airport and federal Rules and Regulations to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees. Contacts require courtesy, tact, skills in understanding and influencing people, and effectiveness in dealing with others. Operates computers and other standard office equipment. The work is performed under limited supervision subject to regulations, policies, and procedures.

Salary Range: $23.79-$38.07/per hour

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, or a closely related field, and Two (2) years of Airport Operations, Airline Operations, Airport Customer Service, or closely related experience at a commercial service airport, or a bachelor’s degree in Aviation or Airport Management with successful completion of an Internship Program in Airport Operations at a commercial Service airport.

Licenses & Certifications:

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Certified Employee- Operations (ACE-OPS) or Certified Member (CM), preferred.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, adhere to Florida traffic laws while safely operating a personal or JAA motor vehicle; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
