The Jacksonville Aviation Authority is seeking a Managing Director for Cecil Spaceport (VQQ). The Managing Director will direct the spaceport infrastructure, establish operational protocols, and manage the development of telemetry and range safety. Position is responsible for coordinating all internal and external work resources and provides leadership and manages all associated resources deemed necessary and appropriate for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the spaceport. Makes appropriate independent decisions as requested and represents the Director, in his/her absence.
The work requires seasoned knowledge of management and general airport aviation management principles gained through education, training and substantial job experience. Directs and supervises the work of subordinates in the department
Bachelor’s degree in Spaceflight Operations, Business Management, Airport Aviation Management, Aerospace Administration, Spaceport, or a closely related field and Five (5) years’ experience in spaceport management. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science, Business Management, Airport Aviation Management, Aerospace Administration, Spaceport, or a closely related field.
Salary & Benefits
The midpoint salary for this position is $116,168.91 depending on experience and is accompanied by an attractive benefits package. Employees of the JAA participate in the Florida Retirement System.
