Provides internal and external communications to customers of the Airport in areas of guest service, community outreach, programs, and special events. Responsible for communications content and special event support which includes reports, articles, website copy, press releases, and other publicity and presentation materials along with coordinating event details and specifics related to private and public engagement events.


  • Represents the Airport to internal and external constituencies.
  • Works with the Marketing and Communications Manager in connection with special projects and events, including press conferences, community engagement events, internal and external celebratory events.
  • Develops and shares analytics reports used to facilitate strategic decisions of the Commercial Development Department and the Airport as a whole.
  • Creates guest service activities and engages passengers to help facilitate growth among the Airport.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment as to various significant matters, including those related to crisis communications and/or interruptions that require guest service attention.
  • Develops and designs internal communications media; develops and creates print, audio/visual and electronic informational and promotional materials to implement public relations strategies and campaigns; and develops and creates materials for press kits.
  • Receives and responds to digital requests for information from passengers, guests, community organizations, professional groups, business organizations and the general public. This includes social media communications and videography/photography requests.
  • Serves as digital editor to the administrative staff.
  • Updates and provides creative posts via social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, email blasts, and any additional platforms which may be added.
  • Maintains updated media lists and contacts with statewide and nationwide print, broadcast, radio publications and aviation trade publications.
  • Develops and produces broadcast, multi-media and other presentation materials.
  • Works with the Marketing and Communications Manager in the creation and design of airline air service development presentation and digital needs and air service promotions and events.
  • Performs related work as required.


  • Knowledge of public relations tools such as CISION PR Newswire and TVEyes.
  • Thorough working knowledge of public relation and journalism principles and practices.
  • Thorough working knowledge of multi-media and marketing principles and production practices.
  • Excellent English language skills, including spelling, punctuation, grammar and usage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite programs and Hubspot.
  • Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Google analytics, Tableau and Power BI or the willingness and ability to learn them.
  • Knowledge of email marketing software such as Constant Contact or similar programs.
  • Experience handling camera and video equipment technology and software.


Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English or other related field (strongly preferred) or substantial progressively responsible experience in relevant areas.
