Responsible to manage, implement, maintain, provide continuous improvement, and support documentation for KCAB Operations as well as other management duties within the Operations, Maintenance and Asset Management departments.
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
Manages, delegates and reviews assigned work. Provides coaching and counseling, staff development and fitness, evaluates performance and applies organizational policies and procedures.
Develops, manages methods, processes and workflows on behalf of the Operations section.
Manages processes to provide for new assets and functions to be integrated into maintenance schedules to maximize the lifecycle of assets.
Provides analysis to assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to support operational goals; analyzes various alternatives and puts definition to them by quantifying risks, resource requirements, cost impacts and timelines.
Analyzes maintenances practices and advises departmental leadership to ensure operational standards are recognized.
Actively manages work flow and allocates resources evenly making sure the right people are on the right task.
Creates, executes and manages project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Creates and manages process standard methodology and supporting documentation.
Manages projects necessary and proper to the enhanced efficiency of Operations.
Reviews deliverables prepared by contractors before integration, ensures their compatibility with KCAB priorities, organizational structure, and stakeholder processes; makes changes as necessary.
Effectively enforces process standards; utilizes group problem solving methodologies in order to take advantage of best practices, integrate them organization-wide, to standardize operational workflows.
Develops Quality Assurance and Control Procedures in accordance with industry best practices and modifies those in accordance with airport standards.
Manages processes appropriately that are utilized for efficient decision making within the Operations section.
Tracks, manages and develop data interpretation and analysis tools for internal use.
As a member of the Maintenance Division, participate in the KCAB Snow Team in functions commensurate with individual capabilities or organizational needs.
Assist with Emergency Operations management, to include process planning, preparedness, and development or improvement of systems or methods to control crises.
Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement. Prepares RFP’s, bid specifications, and negotiates contracts.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field to the area of assignment and seven years’ experience managing operations processes and projects, planning/scheduling or site master data responsibilities using asset management software with the primary focus on facility or asset maintenance management; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
Valid drivers license.
Advanced Airport Management System certification.
Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA)
Data structures and integration of functional locations, equipment, bills of material and preventive maintenance records;
Experience with the benefits and integration scenarios of other data sources;
Facility and asset management;
Identification and analysis of problems and recommending and assisting in implementation of solutions;
Retrieving, organizing, analyzing and interpreting data and presenting results in an organized manner.
Demonstrated skill in use of independent judgment;
Demonstrated skill in team leadership;
Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating and advocating, both orally and in writing;
Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets; specifically:
Advanced Infor, Maximo or SAP materials management
Microsoft Office Suite
Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: kneeling, reaching, fingering, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
