The year-long Properties, Planning, and Construction Internship program is designed to introduce future airport managers to the many facets of a commercial service airport with a concentration on business and administration. Our intern will have an immersive experience with emphasis on what it takes to develop, maintain, and enhance “Doing business with the COS Airport.” There will be opportunities to assist with projects and support airport management and others in the coordination and compliance of airport development, planning, construction, maintenance, and utilization. Each day will look different and provide a blend of in-office and on-site responsibilities and learnings relating to general and corporate aviation, commercial aviation, military aviation, and business park development. (COS is proud to say all past interns have found exciting positions in the aviation industry due partly to their experience and success at COS.)
The program lasts 1,600 hours, for which the intern receives bi-weekly pay of up to $1,280 working 32-hour work weeks for 50 weeks or $1,600 working 40-hour work weeks for 40 weeks or any combination thereof without exceeding the restriction of a maximum of 1,600 hours total in the fiscal year. The intern will be allowed two weeks of unpaid vacation. (Interns are not eligible for City benefits, including but not limited to paid sick leave, paid holidays, court leave with pay, military leave with pay, group life insurance, medical insurance, dental insurance, long-term disability insurance, retirement program, and employee assistance program.)
