Essential Job Functions

  • Perform detailed inspections of airfield and landside assets to determine extent of necessary repairs; recommend appropriate repair and replacement procedures; and determine method of repair activities
  • Coordinate with procurement to purchase parts, equipment, and supplies; select repair service providers; ensure all procedures are followed
  • Complete and process a variety of documentation, including work orders, billing statements, hazardous materials records; and personnel-related forms
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all asphalt and concrete surfaces, including patching, painting, snow removal, and sweeping
  • Plan, prioritize, supervise, review, inspect, and participate in the work of staff and outside contractors
  • Participate in the selection of staff; provide and/or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; and implement discipline procedures
  • Maintain and update a variety of files and records; ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with policies
  • Serve as a key member of the airport snow removal team

In this position, you will supervise the day to day operations of airside and landside activities . You will ensure work quality and compliance to established policies, procedures, and Federal regulations.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices
  • Knowledge of pavement maintenance techniques
  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in pavement maintenance and repair
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing

Successful candidate will have

  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by specialized technical training appropriate to assigned field
  • Five years of full-time experience in public works or aviation, including one year of lead supervisory experience
  • Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B driver’s license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges (NOTE: CURRENT CDLs MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) DRUG AND ALCOHOL CLEARINGHOUSE AT https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov.)

Ideal candidates will also have

  • Two years of full-time experience as a maintenance supervisor
  • Experience with pavement maintenance and repair, including maintenance and repair of airport runways
  • Experience operating a wide variety of intermediate and heavy equipment
  • Experience using radio communication equipment

Additional Information

This position requires that you are available for emergency callout.

The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
