AIRPORT POLICE/ARFF OFFICER

Under the direction of a superior or senior officer, performs skilled law enforcement and rescue-firefighting work as a member of an assigned shift at the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District. Work
involves responsibility for the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and the enforcement of
federal, state and local laws and regulations as they apply to airport law enforcement and aircraft rescuefire-fighting procedures. Employees of this class are required to learn and participate in the operation of
apparatus and in the performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions such as heat, smoke and
cramped and hazardous surroundings. A significant portion of time is spent in routine terminal and
facilities patrol and inspection of aircraft rescue-fire-fighting property and equipment. Incumbent is on
twenty-four hour call. Performs other work as requested.
