The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Specialist (Assistant Airport Property Manager) – Telecom/I.T./A.I. Retail to work in Aviation’s Business and Property Management Division.  This is administrative work assisting in the coordination and administration of concession activities related to the airport’s multi-million dollar retail program at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport.  The position is responsible for Telecom/I.T./A.I management, monitoring, tenants relations, operations and procurement.  The Business Specialist (Assistant Airport Property Manager) – Telecom/I.T./A.I. Retail will report to the Airport Manager of Business – Retail.

Work involves responsibility for assisting and coordinating various activities relating to the management functions in the negotiation of agreements, leasing and inspection of airport Telecom/I.T./A.I. activities.  Emphasis of the work is on oversight of operations of the Telecom/I.T. /A.I. retail program, including but not limited to assisting in negotiating and preparing a variety of retail agreements and related leases, procurement, maintaining favorable tenant relations, inspecting leased airport properties for compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreements and leases, and assisting with research pertaining to the Telecom/I.T./A.I. retail industries. The Business Specialist (Assistant Airport Property Manager) – Telecom/I.T./A.I. Retail will assist the Airport Manager of Business – Retail with periodic inspections, evaluations and monitoring of airport leaseholds and facilities for compliance with terms and conditions contained in leases and Telecom/I.T./A.I. concession agreements and with established departmental practices.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, information technology or public administration or closely related field.

Requires two (2) years’ experience in business, telecommunications industry or information technology platforms, or public administration including high level administrative positions involving compliance, public contact and coordination of office business functions or closely related experience.

 

Special Certifications and Licenses

·         Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and Customs Seal.

Preferences

·         Experience in Telecom/I.T./A.I. Industry

·         Experience in operating a concession at an airport

·         Certificates in Telecom/I.T./A.I.
