$63,722.26 – $101,699.94, DOQ plus benefits

The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Airport Operations Supervisor. This is administrative and supervisory work in managing the overall operation of a functional area within the Aviation Operations Division. Work may involve responsibility for planning, coordinating and managing the operation of the Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC), Terminal, Landside, and Airfield within Operations sections of a County airport. Employees in this class supervise and train subordinates engaged in airport operations and inspections, and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and County rules, regulations, and procedures. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment in planning and implementing operational procedures related to the assigned section, and is reviewed through conferences and written reports. Duties include working rotating shifts and assignments, including holidays and weekends. Work requires communication with the public, airport tenants, foreign, Federal, State, local government, and other agencies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Airport Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
(Two years of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires four (4) years in airport operations work including one (1) year lead work/supervisory experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and a Customs and Border Protection seal.
- AAAE certification or accreditation (ACE, CM, AAAE)
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Airport Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
