The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Airport Manager in the Aviation Operations Division – Airside section.  This is advanced specialized work in the management of all activities related to Airside Operations ensuring compliance with FAR Part 139 at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).   This includes contractual oversight and management of FLL’s Ramp Control agreement and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) agreement. The Airport Manager for Airside Operations should possess a thorough understanding of Federal, State, and Local regulations pertaining to Airside Operations at a large hub commercial service airport to include FAR Part 139, FAR Part 77, NFPA 407, CFR 1542, Florida State Statute Chapter 330, NFPA 407, ICAO Annex 14, Broward County Code of Ordinances Chapters 2 and 8.5, Aviation Department Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Duties involve tenant, governmental, and vendor relations; contract drafting, procurement, negotiations for competitive bidding of contracts associated with Ramp Control and ARFF agreements; participation in facility design and planning; Operating and Capital budget preparation and oversight; coordination of tenant improvement projects; airfield construction projects, wildlife control, training, coaching and mentoring staff; implementation of company policy and procedures to staff; develop and implement programs; oversight of emergency response of assigned staff; airport emergency response planning, tabletop exercises, and live drill exercises, and ensure compliance of rules and regulations by stakeholders.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in,

Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science or closely related field.

Requires four (4) years in airport management specifically Airside including one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Experience with 14 CFR 139 certification process, self-inspections and aircraft related emergency responses at a medium or large hub airport.

Familiarization with wildlife mitigation and airfield construction coordination.

Proficiency with emergency tabletop exercise and live drill planning.

Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with authority to drive a county vehicle for the duration of appointment.
Ability to obtain/maintain Airport security badge & Customs seal.
